AMENDMENT NO 2 TO AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

AMEND by inserting the following language after line 435:

     "As a condition of expending the funds appropriated under Sections 1 and 2 of this act for the Medical Services budget as provided in Section 3 of this act, the Department of Corrections shall, not later than March 31, 2027, prepare and give notice of a Request for Proposals for solicitations of contractors to perform and provide health care to the inmates of the department under a contract that will be effective on October 1, 2027, and in the Request for Proposals, the department shall consider established firms that have provided health care services in a correctional environment and also give consideration to any hospital or group of hospitals that can demonstrate that they are capable of providing health care services to inmates."
