AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

House Bill No. 1444

BY: Representative Gibbs (72nd)

AMEND by striking lines 9 through 239 in their entirety and by inserting the following in lieu thereof:

     "SECTION 1.  The Mississippi Department of Corrections shall maintain written policies and procedures for providing appropriate personal protective equipment to inmates handling cleaning chemicals and supplies."

     AMEND FURTHER, on line on line 240 by striking the figure "9" and by inserting in lieu thereof "2".

     AMEND FURTHER, the title by striking lines 1 though 7 in their entirety and by inserting the following in lieu thereof:

     "AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO MAINTAIN WRITTEN POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR PROVIDING APPROPRIATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT TO INMATES HANDLING CLEANING CHEMICALS AND SUPPLIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
