House Resolution 70

A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE NEW ALBANY HIGH SCHOOL BULLDOGS GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 4A VOLLEYBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, THE FIRST IN SCHOOL HISTORY.

WHEREAS, on October 16, 2025, the New Albany High School Bulldogs Girls Volleyball Team has brought honor and pride to New Albany by winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 4A State Championship, held at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, their first in school history; and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs demonstrated their ability with their dedication, perseverance and leadership throughout their season of play, and they intensely amplified all of their hard work for the championship series to prove once and for all that the Bulldogs are the queens of Mississippi 4A volleyball; and

WHEREAS, this exceptional group of young ladies helped lead the school's volleyball program to its ninth straight division championship, won the North Half Championship for the second straight year when they defeated Ripley, and won the Gold Ball when they defeated Newton County in 5 sets, finishing the season with a record of 32-10-4; and

WHEREAS, the team will surely carry the unforgettable memories they made along the way and the lessons of hard work, dedication and perseverance learned during this amazing season throughout their lives, and they will always remember the feeling of greatness that accompanies being a champion; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially that displayed by the New Albany High School Bulldogs Girls Volleyball Team, and it is with great pride that we congratulate this elite group of student-athletes, who have brought honor to New Albany High School and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the New Albany High School Bulldogs Girls Volleyball Team for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 4A State Championship, the first in school history, and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the New Albany High School Bulldogs Girls Volleyball Team and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
