A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE EAST WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY CHEER TEAM UPON WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) 2025 1-4A NON-TUMBLING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the East Webster High School Varsity Cheer Team is being honored and celebrated upon capturing the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) 2025 1-4A Non-Tumbling State Championship; and

WHEREAS, these talented Wolverines, who superbly boost school spirit while promoting good sportsmanship, had an outstanding cheer season as their victorious 2025 state championship win comes after the team was named as MHSAA's State Runner-Up in the 2024 1-4A Non-Tumbling State Championship - which speaks to the dedication and hard work of these young ladies; and

WHEREAS, members of the victorious East Webster High School Varsity Cheer Team are as follows: Khole Quinn; Kambry Reed; Maci Hunt; Bella Flora; Karlee Bigham; Braylee Gilliland; Kierston Quinn; Analeigh Walters; Winters Norman; Sara Jewel McKee; JoAnna Boykin; Ainslee Oswalt; Mary Ava Washington; Averee Adams; Keelie Gentry; Molly Addison Price; Mary Clayton Chrismond; Coleman Shows; Kaylee Dewberry; Emily Avent and Hadley Williams; and

WHEREAS, the Wolverines Varsity Cheer Team have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Shawna Williams who has refined the skills and execution of the team; and

WHEREAS, the East Webster High School Varsity Cheer Team have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual team members, their coach, parents and East Webster High School and brings great honor to the entire Webster County School District; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the East Webster High School Varsity Cheer Team and their coach for their extraordinary season and upon winning the MHSAA 2025 1-4A Non-Tumbling State Championship as well as for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors, which has resulted in their being crowned state champions.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Shawna Williams and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
