House Resolution 34

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MISS OLIVIA FAVERO UPON BEING CROWNED MISS RODEO AMERICA 2026 AND WELCOMING HER TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI DURING THE 2026 DIXIE NATIONAL RODEO.

WHEREAS, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, Miss Olivia Favero, of Taylor, Utah, who represented her home state as Miss Rodeo Utah 2025, was crowned Miss Rodeo America 2026 at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated horsewoman and rising leader in the equine industry, Olivia embodies the spirit, grace and grit of rodeo; and

WHEREAS, before being crowned as the prestigious Miss Rodeo America 2026, Olivia graduated from Weber State University with two associate degrees, and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations and advertising; and

WHEREAS, alongside her studies, Olivia worked at her local farm store and as a cosmetologist, allowing her to build meaningful connections with customers, clients and her community; and

WHEREAS, in her spare time, Olivia enjoys riding dirt bikes on mountain trails, training horses and helping on her family's farm, and her deep love for horsemanship, and the western way of life fuels her commitment to preserving and promoting the traditions she holds dear; and

WHEREAS, in addition to capturing the Miss Rodeo America crown, Olivia earned the Appearance Award and the Desiree Larson Memorial Achievement Award, and with her new title, she receives more than $20,000 in educational scholarships and prizes, the opportunity to ride AQHA horses, the honor of wearing the iconic Landstrom's Black Hills Gold crown, a wardrobe from Wrangler, Montana Silversmiths jewelry, select Justin Boots and Resistol hats, and additional gifts from other generous sponsors; and

WHEREAS, as Miss Rodeo America 2026, Olivia will serve as the official representative of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and during her reign she will travel over 40,000 miles and appear at more than 100 rodeo performances, as well as attend various schools, civic groups, and special events across the nation, and her mission is to educate the public about rodeo, its sponsors, and its abundant opportunities that exist within the western industry; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor fine individuals such as Miss Olivia Favero, a young woman who exudes poise and class, and serves as an asset and wonderful role model to young girls throughout the nation, with her attitude, determination and professionalism:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Miss Olivia Favero upon being crowned Miss Rodeo America 2026, welcome her to the State of Mississippi during the 2026 Dixie National Rodeo, and express deepest wishes for her continued success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Olivia Favero, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
