House Concurrent Resolution 36

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING REVEREND DR. VICTOR DIXON ON BEING ELECTED TO THE ESTEEMED POSITION OF PRESIDENT OF THE COPIAH MINISTERIAL ALLIANCE.

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Victor Dixon has served as the esteemed President of the Copiah Ministerial Alliance since this impressive organization was created; and

WHEREAS, he has faithfully fulfilled his presidential duties while continuing to serve his flock as the pastor of Egypt Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, where he has passionately helped thousands give their lives to Christ, and while continuing to serve as the President of the Bethel Christian College in Hazelhurst; and

WHEREAS, he has held numerous leadership positions before these, including Director for the Copiah County Ministerial Alliance Abstinence Only and Parental Involvement Programs from 2005 through 2010, Executive Chairperson for the Copiah County Democratic Party (2015), President of the Legendary Dixon Singers, President of Dixon Reunion and Review; and

WHEREAS, in spite of serving in these many leadership roles, he still found time to serve his community as a board member for the Mississippi Baptist State Convention, the Tri-County Healthy Marriage Coalition and as a member of the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Copiah County; and

WHEREAS, an astute businessman, he is the owner and operator of Dixon's Body and Auto Sales, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, he has been supported in all his endeavors by his loving wife, Mrs. Lavoise Singleton Dixon, their two children, Kristy and Stephen and their three amazing grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to honor community leaders who exude excellence in all they do to improve the quality of life for the citizens of our state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Reverend Dr. Victor Dixon on being elected to the esteemed position of President of the Copiah County Ministerial Alliance.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Reverend Dr. Victor Dixon and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
