AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO HEATHER DAWN SOUTH (ROGERS) WICKS OF TISHOMINGO COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Heather Dawn South (Rogers) Wicks of Covington County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her conviction for the crime of embezzlement.  On January 5, 2005, in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, she was sentenced to serve ten (10) years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with one (1) year to serve and five (5) years of probation post-release.

     On January 5, 2006, she was discharged from the physical custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections due to the expiration of her sentence.  She represents that she has completed all terms and conditions of her sentence.  The Legislature is informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.
