House Resolution 68

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SOUTH PANOLA FAST PITCH TEAM ON WINNING THE 2024 6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the impressive young people who comprise the South Panola Fast Pitch Team have ended their season as the 2024 6A State Champions; and

WHEREAS, they have worked tirelessly throughout the season to perfect and enhance their pitching skills to gain a competitive edge; and

WHEREAS, superbly coached by Head Coach Ashleigh Hicks and

Assistant Coaches: Rachel Kelly, Mary Lee Ward, Kristy Jones, Savanna Reeb, the team was able to refine their skills and gain a sizeable advantage over their competitors; and

WHEREAS, this amazing team includes eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade students who are enthusiastic and passionate about fast pitching; and

WHEREAS, Hannah Robertson is the only eighth grade student on the team, but she works hard alongside ninth grade students: Hailey Heafner, Kaleigh Cobb, Lynnly Nicholson, Georgia Phillips, Kalah Flowers, Baylee Little, Kaylee Glover, Siena Cabrera; tenth grade students: Madisyn Fondren, Grady Beck Wilson and Presley Gammel; eleventh grade students: Makenzie Houston, Shania Fondren, Marleigh Goss, Jenna Grace Burnett, Sadie Bright, Chaney Beth Hannaford, Kirstyn Woodall, Carrie Anna Davis and Kailey McKinney; and twelfth grade students: KK Hubbard, Addison Sanders, Madison Shivers, Kacie Towles; and

WHEREAS, the team has been supported by their managers:

Karegan Lewis and Tamaria Bradley, throughout the season; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to celebrate the accomplishments of student-athletes who bring honor to their community, schools and family:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the South Panola Fast Pitch Team on winning the 2024 6A State Championship, and wish them continued success in all their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Ashleigh Hicks,

Assistant Coaches: Rachel Kelly, Mary Lee Ward, Kristy Jones and Savanna Reeb, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
