     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     SECTION 1.  Whenever any policy of insurance, medical service plan, hospital service contract, or hospital and medical service contract issued in the State of Mississippi provides for reimbursement for any service which is within the lawful scope of practice of a duly licensed pharmacist as defined in Section 73-21-73, the insured individual or other person entitled to benefits under such policy, plan or contract is entitled to reimbursement for such services.  Duly licensed pharmacists are entitled to participate in such policies, plans, or contracts providing for pharmacy services, as authorized by the laws of the State of Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024, and shall stand repealed on June 30, 2024.


     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT AN INSURED INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR CERTAIN SERVICES WHENEVER HIS OR HER POLICY OF INSURANCE, MEDICAL SERVICE PLAN, HOSPITAL SERVICE CONTRACT, OR HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL SERVICE CONTRACT ISSUED IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI PROVIDES FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR ANY SERVICE WHICH IS WITHIN THE LAWFUL SCOPE OF PRACTICE OF A DULY LICENSED PHARMACIST; TO AUTHORIZE LICENSED PHARMACISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN SUCH POLICIES, PLANS, OR CONTRACTS PROVIDING FOR PHARMACY SERVICES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
