Senate Resolution 74

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING AARON CLEVELAND, FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT THE JACKSON COUNTY CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

     WHEREAS, Aaron Cleveland, a resident of Gautier, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and

     WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

     WHEREAS, Aaron, an Instrumentation, Automation, and Electronics Instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past eight years; and

     WHEREAS, he received his Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Process Operations Technology from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, his Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Philosophy and Psychology from Excelsior University, and his Master of Aeronautical Science degree with an emphasis in Safety and Technology Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; and

     WHEREAS, Aaron worked for Pensacola State College, and Florida State College, and was in the United States Marine Corps stationed in Iwakuni, Japan, prior to his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend an outstanding teacher, who has dedicated his career to teaching individuals of this state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Aaron Cleveland for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Aaron Cleveland, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
