A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 25 COACHES FROM ACROSS MISSISSIPPI WHO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI EXCELLENCE IN COACHING FELLOWSHIP, ALSO KNOWN AS "TOMORROW'S 25."

     WHEREAS, the Mississippi Excellence in Coaching Fellowship ("Tomorrow's 25") is presented by the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC), the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA), and the University of Mississippi's School of Education (UM SOE); and

     WHEREAS, the "Tomorrow's 25" Coaching Fellowship seeks to annually select and invest in 25 future leaders for Mississippi in the area of high school and middle school athletics; and

     WHEREAS, the following candidates were chosen for the 2023-2024 cohort:  Victoria Anglin (Petal School District), Shane Baltz (Senatobia Municipal School District), Allyson Brooks (Madison County Schools), Hawtin Buchanan (Biloxi Public School District), Sanwaa Cooper (Harrison County School District), Drew Crowell (Madison County Schools), Lauren Dixon (Rankin County School District), Logan Dodson (Oxford School District), Candace Foster (Jackson Public Schools), Nick Griffin (Perry County School District), Fred Hampton (Scott County School District), Allyson Hancock (Harrison County School District), Eddie Ivory (Sunflower County Consolidated School District), Brandon Jackson (Tupelo Public School District), Caronica Jackson (Hattiesburg Public School District), Keisha Keyes (Pascagoula-Gautier School District), Michael Lindsey (Meridian Public School District), Candice Maloney (Lauderdale County School District), Kasey McCann (George County School District), J.K. McWilliams (Rankin County School District), Katelyn Robbins (New Albany School District), Terrance Robinson (Madison County Schools), Jeff Stockstill (Pass Christian Public School District), Semaj Williams (West Bolivar Consolidated School District), and Tiffany Wilson (Quitman County School District); and

     WHEREAS, all 25 candidates were identified by a selection committee, and represent the best the state has to offer based off their competency, character, and commitment to their school and community; and

     WHEREAS, the "Tomorrow's 25" Coaching Fellowship seeks to assist in three areas of growth for each candidate:  Coaching the Whole Athlete (Leadership, Resilience, Empathy, and Responsibility), the opportunity to network with 24 of their peers who have demonstrated the capacity to be our state's future leaders in athletics, and access to current leaders in the Associations (MAC, MHSAA) and College Athletics to learn how they can grow their spheres of influence in their communities and across the state; and

     WHEREAS, the ultimate goal of the "Tomorrow's 25" Coaching Fellowship is for the selected candidates to have this time to deliberately work on their craft in a cohort of their peers, so that ultimately their student-athletes and overall communities benefit for years to come:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the selected coaches for the 2023-2024 "Tomorrow's 25" Class, and extend best wishes for continued success in the future.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the 25 Coaching Fellowship recipients, forwarded to the sponsors of this event, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
