Senate Resolution 37

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE HANCOCK HIGH SCHOOL "HAWKS" BOWLING TEAM AND COACH TREVIN BURGE FOR WINNING THE 2024 MHSAA CLASS II BOYS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Hancock High School "Hawks" Boys Bowling Team has won the 2024 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class II Boys State Championship by a score of 4039; and

WHEREAS, the league score is based on total team strikes, spares and open frames plus any handicap points; and

WHEREAS, individual honors for the 2024 "Hawks" include Casy Wheat on the All-State Team with 903 points for the season, and Brayden Hust on the All-State Team with 885 points for the season; and

WHEREAS, the 2024 "Hawks" Bowling Team includes: Brian Davidson, Brayden Hust, Noah Shaw, Greg Hinkkanen, Ricky Arnaud, Casy Wheat, Brady Monahan and Nathan Davidson; and Coach Trevin Burge; and

WHEREAS, it is with pride that we recognize these student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Hancock High School "Hawks" Bowling Team and Coach Trevin Burge for winning the 2024 MHSAA Class II Boys State Championship, and extend to the team, coach, parents and sponsors our best wishes for success in future seasons.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to "Hawks" All-Stars Casy Wheat and Brayden Hust and Coach Trevin Burge, forwarded to Hancock High School Principal Ms. Tara Ladner and the Hancock County Board of Education, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
