AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MISSISSIPPI MAIN STREET REVITALIZATION GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING UPON PASSAGE AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2025; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Capital Expense Fund not otherwise appropriated to the Mississippi Development Authority for the purpose of defraying costs associated with the Mississippi Main Street Revitalization Grant Program for the period beginning upon passage and ending June 30, 2025............................. $ 6,972,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  Of the funds appropriated under Section 1, the following amounts are to be allocated as follows:

To defray the costs of the Amory Downtown District Revitalization Project in Amory, Mississippi.................... $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the How Hop Creative Project in Biloxi, Mississippi...................................... $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the Booneville Historic Hardware Building Restoration in Booneville, Mississippi............ $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the Town Green and Public Art Placement in Cleveland, Mississippi........................... $    120,000.00

To defray the costs of the Downtown Columbus Wayfinding and Streetscape Improvement Project in Columbus, Mississippi.........

................................................ $    380,000.00

To defray the costs of the Old Biggs Building Revitalization Project in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.................. $    122,000.00

To defray the costs of the Greater Greenville River City Revitalization Initiative in Greenville, Mississippi.............

................................................ $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the Downtown Hattiesburg Welcome Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi......................... $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the Hernando Streetscapes, Public Space Improvements, and Retail Recruitment Project in Hernando, Mississippi $    180,000.00

To defray the costs of the Riverfront District Revitalization Project in Moss Point, Mississippi................ $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the Depot Park and Natchez Bluff in Natchez, Mississippi...................................... $    362,000.00

To defray the costs of the Old Barber Shop Restoration, in Nettleton, Mississippi........................... $    130,000.00

To defray the costs of the Revealing Our Destination Safely in New Albany, Mississippi.............................. $    330,000.00

To defray the costs of the Flagship Revitalization Streetscape Plan in Pascagoula, Mississippi....................... $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of purchasing, renovating, and preserving the Hills Hotel in Ripley, Mississippi................ $    500,000.00

To defray the costs of the Wayfinding and Street Sign Revitalization Project in Saltillo, Mississippi................. $    410,000.00

To defray the costs of the Senatobia Utilities Building Renovation in Senatobia, Mississippi........................ $    400,000.00

To defray the costs of the Blues Highway Travel Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi...................................... $    408,000.00

To defray the costs of the Water Valley Historic Walking Tour in Water Valley, Mississippi........................ $    130,000.00

     SECTION 3.  The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the Capital Expense Fund not otherwise appropriated upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
