AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO PHILADELPHIA TRANSIT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The governing authorities of the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi, in their discretion, are authorized to make a one-time contribution in an amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), out of any available funds of the city, to Philadelphia Transit, which is a nonprofit organization that provides transportation for the general public, elderly and disabled citizens within the city.  The funds shall be used to support the operational cost of Philadelphia Transit.

     (2)  This section shall be repealed from and after July

1, 2028.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
