AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 23-15-563.1, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO ALLOW THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR VOTER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 23-15-563.1, Mississippi Code of 1972:
23-15-563.1. The Secretary of State may promulgate rules and regulations, under the Administrative Procedures Act, that are necessary to effectuate the provisions of Section 23-15-563, including, but not limited to, providing what constitutes current and valid voter identification in regards to identifying voters.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
