A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL LADY FALCONS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS 2A GIRLS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Basketball Team reigned supreme at the 2024 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A Girls Basketball State Championship, a truly momentous accomplishment; and

     WHEREAS, the 2023-2024 Lady Falcons demonstrated their ability through dedication, perseverance, leadership, and hard work to live up to the championship tradition recognized throughout the State of Mississippi that personifies Union

County basketball; and

     WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons are comprised of the following talented student-athletes: Issie Riddle, Daylen Grisham, Tyrani Jones, Kaitlyn Turner, Carys Ball, Briley Stout, Bella Phifer, Allyson Beard, Cadie Jo Byrd, Kylie Jumper, Anna Lauren Glasson, Marissa Bell, Kylie Brock, Miley Roberts, Maggie Nance, Rachel Weeden, Addi Morgan Mayo and Bailey Glasson; and

     WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons have been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Trent Adair, Assistant Coach Katherine Downing, Strength and Conditioning/Trainer Jeremy Dorrough, and Volunteer Coach Laura Hogue, who have broadened the team's knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

     WHEREAS, in their tireless dedication, the Lady Falcons have developed a winning, cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitudes reflect great credit upon the individual players, Coach Adair, Assistant Coach Downing, Strength and Conditioning/Trainer Jeremy Dorrough, Volunteer Coach Laura Hogue, and Bookkeeper Melissa Reed; and

     WHEREAS, the members of this distinguished team will surely carry the unforgettable memories they made along their way to championship status, whether it be the long hours of grueling practices, as well as the lessons of hard work, dedication and perseverance learned during this amazing season, throughout their lives as they are constantly flooded with the feeling of greatness that accompanies being a champion; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially that displayed by the Lady Falcons, and it is with great pride that we congratulate this elite group of student-athletes who have brought honor to Ingomar High School and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Basketball Team upon winning the 2024 Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 2A State Girls Basketball Championship, and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Basketball Team, Coach Trent Adair, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
