House Resolution 159

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR ATTENDANCE CENTER GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Ingomar Volleyball Team of 2023-2024 has brought honor and pride to the Union County, Mississippi school system by winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, the 2023-2024 Ingomar Volleyball Team demonstrated their ability through dedication, perseverance, leadership, and hard work to live up to the championship tradition recognized throughout the State of Mississippi that personifies Union County volleyball; and

WHEREAS, the success of the volleyball program at Ingomar Attendance Center is due to the incredible support and resources made available from the parents, coaches, and especially the administration; and

WHEREAS, the team's ascent to the pinnacle of volleyball excellence has been made manifest through the tenacious efforts of both coaches and athletes alike, including: Head Coach Andy Wilbanks; Assistant Coach Laura Hogue; Strength and Conditioning/Trainer Jeremy Dorrough; athletes, Issie Riddle, Abby Miller, Miley Roberts, Cadie Jo Byrd, Marissa Bell, Bella Phifer, Carys Ball, Macie Phifer, Daylen Grisham, Brooklyn Wicker, Tyrani Jones, Briley Stout, Emma Potts and Anna Lauren Glasson; managers, Eden Wilbanks, Rachel Weeden, Ella Weeden, Maggie Nance, Ella Hart Wilbanks, Jack Wilbanks, Kasie James Jasper and Bailey Glasson; and

WHEREAS, the team will surely carry the unforgettable memories they made along the way and the lessons of hard work, dedication and perseverance learned during this amazing season throughout their lives as they remember the feeling of greatness that accompanies being a champion; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially that displayed by the Ingomar Attendance Center Girls Volleyball Team, and it is with great pride that we congratulate this elite group of student-athletes, who have brought honor to Ingomar Attendance Center, Union County and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar Attendance Center Girls Volleyball Team for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A State Championship, and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Ingomar Attendance Center Girls Volleyball Team and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
