AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO CLOVIS DALE MCGHEE OF LEE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Clovis Dale McGhee of Lee County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of burglary-general and sale of controlled substance on June 27, 1980, in Lee County, for which he was sentenced to serve ten (10) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.  He was paroled on October 10, 1983.  He violated his probation and it was revoked.  On June 10, 1985, he was sentenced to his term.

     He was paroled on August 8, 1986, and discharged on July 8, 1987.  The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
