A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING JACQUELINE "J.D." ERVIN OF MCCOMB, MISSISSIPPI, AS "MISS RODEO MISSISSIPPI 2023" ON THE OCCASION OF THE DIXIE NATIONAL LIVESTOCK AND RODEO SHOW.
WHEREAS, Jacqueline Ervin of McComb, Mississippi, is no stranger to the Miss Rodeo Mississippi Foundation. In January 2021, she was crowned the 2021 Miss Dixie National as the official ambassador for the Dixie National Livestock and Rodeo Show; and
WHEREAS, Jacqueline is the 21-year-old daughter of Doug and Brandi Ervin and the granddaughter of Randy and Jackie Braswell and the late Hershel and Dorothy Ervin. Jacqueline is currently a senior at Mississippi State University and will graduate in the spring with a degree in Business Administration. Jacqueline and four of her siblings are the first set of living quintuplets born in Mississippi in half a century; and
WHEREAS, Jacqueline is a member of Delta Omega Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority where she has participated in community service and has been involved in several philanthropic organizations, including Girl Scouts and Prevent Child Abuse of America. In high school, Jacqueline was nominated by her senior class as "Most Friendly," and she was nominated and participated in the Azalea Court of McComb in 2019. Jacqueline's hobbies include going on walks, spending time with friends, riding her horses, and operating her online boutique, Quintz and Company; and
WHEREAS, she has more than 11 years of experience with rodeos, horse shows, and other activities that will help her be a great ambassador for the sport of rodeo, the State of Mississippi, and the western way of life. Jacqueline has won the Title Grand Champion from the TTES Riding Club as well as earning Reserve Champion from the Liverpool Riding Club. She also qualified for NBHA Worlds for four years in a row and is a three-time Dixie National Flag Girl; and
WHEREAS, as a young girl, Jacqueline has always had a love for animals and the western lifestyle, all of which make her truly honored to be crowned Miss Rodeo Mississippi 2023:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize Jacqueline "J.D." Ervin of McComb, Mississippi, as "Miss Rodeo Mississippi 2023" on the occasion of the Dixie National Livestock and Rodeo Show and extend to her our best wishes for future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Jacqueline "J.D." Ervin, forwarded to the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
