AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO JESSICA COMPTON OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Jessica Compton of Jackson County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her convictions of the crimes of fraud-utter false bill or promissory note and grand theft in 2014 Escambia County, Florida, and who was sentenced to serve thirty-six (36) months.  Compton was placed on probation on February 5, 2014.  On November 12, 2015, she was incarcerated in the custody of the Escambia County Corrections Department, and her probation was revoked on December 18, 2015.  She was discharged from incarceration in the custody of Escambia County Corrections on March 18, 2016.  Since that time, she has conducted herself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
