AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO TAKE SUCH ACTIONS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO PROHIBIT THE PURCHASE OF PUBLIC OR PRIVATE REAL ESTATE LOCATED IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI BY MEMBERS OF THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) This section shall be known and may be cited as the "Securing Mississippi's Land from Foreign Interference Act."
(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of State shall take such actions as may be necessary to prohibit the purchase of public or private real estate located within the boundary of the State of Mississippi by members of the Chinese Communist Party.
(3) The Secretary of State shall promulgate rules and regulations pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act to implement the prohibition provided in this act.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2023.
