House Resolution 199

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. RYAN SCHILLING, FOR BEING SELECTED AS 2023 INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

WHEREAS, Mr. Schilling, a resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has been selected as 2023 Instructor of the Year at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and

WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Schilling, a history instructor and Instructional Design Coordinator, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past 12 years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Schilling received his bachelor of arts degree with an emphasis in history from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his master of arts degree with an emphasis in history from the University of Southern Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, prior to his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Mr. Schilling worked as a social studies teacher at Hattiesburg High School and Sacred Heart Junior High and High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend such an outstanding teacher as Mr. Schilling, who has dedicated his career to teaching the young people of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Ryan Schilling for being selected as 2023 Instructor of the Year at the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Ryan Schilling and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
