A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE ROBIN ROBINSON FOR HER NOTABLE LEGISLATIVE SERVICE UPON THE OCCASION OF HER DEPARTURE FROM THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, Representative Robin Robinson, of Laurel, Mississippi, has announced her plans for departure from the Mississippi House of Representatives at the conclusion of her current term, after working on behalf of the citizens of Mississippi and House District 88, which encompasses portions of Jasper and Jones Counties; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Robinson, a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Jones County Community College, and N.E. Jones High School, became the Lady from Jones upon being sworn into office after her election to the Mississippi House of Representatives in 2020; and

     WHEREAS, during her time in the House, Representative Robinson served as a member of numerous committees, such as: Accountability, Efficiency, and Transparency; Agriculture; Conservation and Water Resources; County Affairs; and Insurance; and

     WHEREAS, not one to limit her community involvement to the Legislature, Representative Robinson is active in her district and dedicated to improving the quality of life for all citizens, as evidenced by her service and affiliation as presiding president of the Institution of Higher Learning Board of Trustees; chairman of Leadership Mississippi, member of the Board of Directors for the USM Foundation and the Mississippi Center for Obesity Research at UMMC Neuro Institute, and board member of the Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, the service of Representative Robinson would be without honor but for the continued support, encouragement and love of her family, who have endured the difficulties that accompany the life of an elected official, and much credit is certainly due to her loved ones who have sacrificed countless hours without her in order to allow her to fulfill her legislative obligations; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor the service of our colleague and friend, Representative Robinson, who represented her district, this body and the people of this state with honor and dignity:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the Lady from Jones, Representative Robin Robinson, for her notable legislative service, and express best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Robin Robinson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
