A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE BAY SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL BULLDOGS FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH DAN BRADY FOR WINNING THE 2022 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS 1A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Bay Springs High School Bulldogs Football Team reigned supreme at the 2022 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 1A State Football Championship on December 2, 2022, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, when they upset McEvans High School 22-0; and
WHEREAS, the Bulldogs, who earned the school's first Class 1A title last year, now have back-to-back titles for the first time in school history; and
WHEREAS, the Bulldogs were driven by more than just the yearning to succeed, and they intensely amplified all of their hard work and motivation, which were so apparent throughout the entire season, for the championship game; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Dan Brady, along with Assistant Coaches Benjamin Justice, Corey Mackey, Destin Ellis, Ken Carter and Regrick Young, have superbly coached and inspired the Bulldogs and broadened their knowledge of the game, while refining their skills in execution, and they continue to build upon the legacy of superior play and true sportsmanship forged by the tenacious and undaunted spirit of each team member, as evidenced in their ability to produce high caliber players and plays, and by the team's successful season; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and honor the achievements of student-athletes such as the Bay Springs High School Bulldogs Football Team, who have brought honor to their school, the Bay Springs community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Bay Springs High School Bulldogs Football Team and Head Coach Dan Brady for winning the 2022 Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 1A State Football Championship and extend best wishes for continued success in all of their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Dan Brady, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
