COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

House Bill No. 1137

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

     SECTION 1.  Section 41-19-35, Mississippi Code of 1972, is brought forward as follows:

     41-19-35.  The board of supervisors of each participating county in the program shall appoint one (1) member to represent its county on the regional commission in its respective region for a term of four (4) years.  Any compensation of such members shall be paid by the regional commission, in its discretion, from any funds available.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

     AN ACT TO BRING FORWARD SECTION 41-19-35, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO A REGIONAL HEALTH COMMISSION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF POSSIBLE AMENDMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
