Senate Resolution 21

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 2021-2022 BRANDON HIGH SCHOOL "LADY BULLDOGS" CHEERLEADING TEAM AND COACHES AMBER KING, SHERRA SHEARER, WILL EMMONS AND STORM CHAFFIN FOR WINNING THE NATIONAL CHEERLEADERS ASSOCIATION (NCA) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, we join the students, teachers, coaches and the community in extending congratulations to the Brandon High School "Lady Bulldogs" Cheerleading Team for winning the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) National Championship; and

WHEREAS, the girls competed and won the Advanced Large Game Performance Category at the NCA National Competition January 22-23, 2022, in Dallas, Texas; and

WHEREAS, the young ladies were presented with their hard-earned trophies at Brandon High School in January; and

WHEREAS, the members of the 2021-2022 Brandon High School Cheerleading Team are: Laura Lane Nichols, Hanna Reedy, Paige Sanders, Ainsley Carr, Destiny Collier, Morgan Patrick, Ellen Robinson, Madelyn Sanders, Sara Scott Stanford, Alaina Harrist, Meri Morgan Marshall, Sydney McAlpin, Madison Nelson, Mikaela Perry, Jaylin Bailey, Allie Curro, Kynsie Densford, Kate Gibson, Aliza Hensley, Claire Huston, Addyson Grace Moss, Avery Power, Jolie Register, Sophie Sharp, Georgia Weems, Reese Wilson and Lexy York; Coaching Staff: Amber King, Sherra Shearer, Will Emmons and Storm Chaffin; and Managers, Ryleigh Cook and Maddye Stegall; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Brandon High School "Lady Bulldogs" Cheerleading Team and Coaches Amber King, Sherra Shearer, Will Emmons and Storm Chaffin for winning the NCA National Championship, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for future competition success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coaches Amber King, Sherra Shearer, Will Emmons and Storm Chaffin for the team and Brandon High School Principal Dr. Bryan Marshall, forwarded to the Rankin County School Board and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
