     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a municipality or county may require a residential roofing contractor to keep a current mailing address on file with the municipality or county.

     For purposes of this section, a residential roofing contractor is a person or entity contracting or offering to contract with an owner or possessor of a residential roof system to repair or replace a roof system on residential real estate, or any portion thereof, regardless of the cost of the project, and regardless of whether all or part of the cost is expected to be paid as a benefit of a property and casualty insurance policy.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2020.


     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT A MUNICIPALITY OR COUNTY MAY REQUIRE A RESIDENTIAL ROOFING CONTRACTOR TO KEEP A CURRENT MAILING ADDRESS ON FILE; TO DEFINE RESIDENTIAL ROOFING CONTRACTOR; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
