A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JORDAN TIERNEY UPON BEING CROWNED MISS RODEO AMERICA 2020 AND WELCOME HER TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI DURING THE DIXIE NATIONAL RODEO.

     WHEREAS, on December 8, 2019, 25-year old Oral, South Dakota native, Jordan Tierney was crowned Miss Rodeo America 2020 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada; and

     WHEREAS, the daughter of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) World Champion and Hall of Famer Paul Tierney and Robin Tierney, Jordan, who graduated from Chadron State College with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration with a marketing minor, represented the Coyote State as Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2019; and

     WHEREAS, during her reign as the official representative of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, Miss Tierney will travel in excess of 100,000 miles, making appearances at nearly 100 rodeo performances, as well as making appearances at schools, civic groups and other special events in order to educate the public and create awareness about the sport of rodeo, its sponsors and the western way of life; and

     WHEREAS, in fulfilling her obligations as Miss Rodeo America 2020, Jordan made her Mississippi appearance during the 2020 Dixie National Rodeo, held in Jackson, Mississippi, on February 6 through 12, 2020; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor fine individuals such as Miss Jordan Tierney, a young woman who exudes poise, class and a tender heart, and serves as an asset and wonderful role model to young girls throughout the nation, with her attitude, determination and professionalism:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate Miss Jordan Tierney, upon being crowned Miss Rodeo America 2020, welcome her to the State of Mississippi during the 2020 Dixie National Rodeo, and express deepest wishes for her continued success during her reign, as well as in all her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Jordan Tierney, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
