AN ACT TO EXEMPT THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THE FEDERAL LAW ESTABLISHING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  In accordance with the Uniform Time Act of 1966 and specifically, the authority granted by the federal government to the states to exempt themselves from the federal law requiring the advancement of time, the State of Mississippi in its entirety, including all political subdivisions of the state, is exempt from the provisions of 15 USCS Section 260a(a), which requires the advancement of standard time by one (1) hour during the period provided in 15 USCS Section 260a(a).

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after January 1, 2021.
