AMENDMENT NO 1 TO COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

Senate Bill No. 3018

AMEND on line 10 by increasing the dollar amount by $74,929.48.

AMEND FURTHER on line 20 by increasing the dollar amount by $1,233,509.18.

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new paragraph at the end of Section 3:

     "Of the funds appropriated in Sections 1 and 2, $74,929.48 of general funds and $1,233,509.18 of special funds shall be used to fund an increase in the annual compensation of each employee of the agency by an amount equal to the greater of:

          (a)  Realignment of the employee's position in accordance with the Variable Compensation Plan, or

          (b)  The applicable amount in the following schedule:

              (i)  For an employee whose gross annual salary is not more than $25,000.00 - an increase of $2,500.00.

              (ii)  For an employee whose gross annual salary is more than $25,000.00 but not more than $35,000.00 - an increase of $1,500.00.

              (iii)  For an employee whose gross annual salary is more than $35,000.00 but not more than $50,000.00 - an increase of $1,000.00.

              (iv)  For an employee whose gross annual salary is more than $50,000.00 - an increase of $500.00."

     In accordance with the requirements of Joint Rule 20A, the amount of state general funds that are appropriated by Senate Bill No. 3056 for the purpose of paying service charges to banks for acting as agents of the State of Mississippi in paying bonds and interest on the full faith and credit bonds of the state shall be reduced by $74,929.48.
