Senate Concurrent Resolution 614

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. BRAD BAILEY FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT

THE JACKSON COUNTY CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY

COLLEGE.

     WHEREAS, Dr. Bailey, a resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and

     WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor Instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

     WHEREAS, Dr. Bailey, a Fine Arts Instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for over eight years; and

     WHEREAS, Dr. Bailey received his Bachelor of Science from Belhaven University, his Master of Public Health in Community Health Education and Promotion and his Doctoral Degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Dr. Bailey worked as an Independent Speaker and Seminar Facilitator, Field Specialist for America Reads, and Author prior to his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend an outstanding teacher who has dedicated his career to teaching the young people of this state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Brad Bailey for being selected as the "Instructor of the Year" at the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be presented to Dr. Brad Bailey, forwarded to the Board of Trustees of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
