House Resolution 69

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE SACRED HEART CATHOLIC SCHOOL CRUSADERS BOYS SOCCER TEAM AND HEAD COACH JOE FALLA FOR WINNING THE 2019 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION 1A/2A/3A STATE SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR AN OVERALL OUTSTANDING SEASON.

WHEREAS, the Sacred Heart Catholic School Crusaders Boys Soccer Team reigned victorious against St. Andrews Episcopal School at the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) 1A/2A/3A State Soccer Championship, their third state championship win in school history; and

WHEREAS, the Crusaders charged against their opponents like an ambushing cavalry during the championship series, pulverizing the championship dreams of each of their foes on their way to the ultimate victory; and

WHEREAS, playing with full hearts and unimaginable amounts of finesse and spirit, the Crusaders outplayed and ultimately outlasted St. Andrews to win 1-0, giving the program its third state title, a true testament to each players' unrivaled skill and ardent determination to win; and

WHEREAS, the team's statistics were impressive, and there were outstanding headers, strikes, penalty kicks and goals by individual players, the key to the Crusaders' success has been the constant team atmosphere and year-round hard work; and

WHEREAS, the Crusaders have been exceptionally coached and tremendously inspired by Head Coach Joe Falla, who has broadened the team's knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, striving to win with unparalleled motivation and fervent determination during the final game of the season, the team's mental stamina and athletic prowess never wavered from the moment they stepped onto the field until they sealed their victory at the end of the match and they raised their well-deserved championship trophy; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize outstanding student-athletes, especially those such as the Sacred Heart Catholic School Crusaders Boys Soccer Team, whose exceptional talent on the field brings honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the Sacred Heart Catholic School Crusaders Boys Soccer Team for winning the 2019 Mississippi High School Activities Association 1A/2A/3A State Soccer Championship and for an overall outstanding season.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Joe Falla and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
