AMENDMENT NO 9 PROPOSED TO

AMEND by inserting the following new section after line 1274 and renumbering any succeeding section:

SECTION 15. There is imposed a tax on the charging of electric vehicles, as defined in Section 6 of this act, which shall be in addition to any other taxes for which the vehicles is liable.  The tax shall be on the amount charged for the charging of the electric vehicle at a rate equivalent to the rate on gasoline in this state.  The Department of Revenue shall establish rules and regulations as necessary to implement and enforce this tax.
