Senate Concurrent Resolution 617

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SALTILLO HIGH SCHOOL "TIGERS" BOYS SOCCER TEAM AND HEAD COACH MATTHEW REEDER FOR WINNING THE MHSAA CLASS 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Saltillo High School "Tigers" Boys Soccer Team defeated Long Beach in the 5A State Championship Match on Saturday, February 17, 2018, with a score of 3-1; and

WHEREAS, Brian Huckaby had one goal and one assist. Cade Knight and Caden Mitchell both also scored a goal. Saltillo's record on the season was 17-5; and

WHEREAS, the Saltillo High School "Tigers" Boys Soccer Team Championship Roster is: Weston Filgo; Ryan Fowlkes; Carter Shannon; Hunter Davis; Cade Knight; Brian Huckaby; David Ables; Sammy Gallardo; Jamarcus Young; Brady Butler; Read Robertson; Will Jolly; Riley Grace; Emerson Mansfield; Cade McCormick; Kyle Patterson; Carter Finch; Zach Turba; Jayson Treadwell; Tanner Buse; Caden Mitchell; Blake Clement and Conner McBride; Head Coach Matthew Reeder; and Assistant Coach John Ward Grace; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this group of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Saltillo High School "Tigers" Boys Soccer Team and Head Coach Matthew Reeder for winning the MHSAA Class 5A State Championship, and extend our best wishes to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Head Coach Matthew Reeder for the team, forwarded to Principal Tim DeVaughn and the Lee County Board of Education, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
