AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE TOWN OF SEMINARY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ESTABLISH A CEMETERY FUND FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES; TO PROVIDE THAT THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN MAY APPOINT A CEMETERY ADVISORY COMMITTEE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The governing authorities of the Town of Seminary, Mississippi, in their discretion, may, establish a town cemetery fund and deposit public monies into the fund.  Expenditures from the fund shall be made solely for the maintenance, upkeep, expansion and beautification of the town cemetery.

     (2)  In addition to the authority granted in subsection (1) of this section, the governing authorities, in their discretion, may, establish a three-member or five-member cemetery advisory committee who shall be appointed by the board of aldermen of the town.

     (3)  The provisions of this section shall be binding on future governing authorities of the town.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
