AN ACT TO CREATE A STUDY COMMITTEE TO RECOMMEND BEST PRACTICE TAXATION POLICIES FOR THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI REGARDING CASINO SPORTS GAMBLING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. There is created a study committee to recommend best practice taxation policies for the State of Mississippi regarding casino sports gambling. The committee shall consist of four (4) members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, four (4) members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor and two (2) members appointed by the Secretary of State. The committee shall nominate and elect a chair from its members who shall set meetings quarterly. The committee shall report its findings and recommendations to the House Committee on Gaming and Senate Committee on Finance prior to the 2019 Legislative Regular Session.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
