AN ACT TO CREATE A NEW SECTION AUTHORIZING ANY COUNTY TO LEVY A CERTAIN TAX UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY FOR SUPPORT OF THE FANNIE LOU HAMER CANCER FOUNDATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF AN EDUCATION CENTER RELATING TO THE PREVENTION OF CANCER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The board of supervisors of any county is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to levy a tax, not to exceed one (1) mill per annum upon all taxable property of the county, which shall be provided directly to the Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation for the establishment and operation of an education center pertaining to the prevention of cancer as well as protection from cancer.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2018.
