Amend by inserting the following section after line 83 and renumbering:

SECTION *.  Sections 5-3-27, 5-3-29, 5-3-31, 45-19-51, 45-19-53, 45-19-55, 45-19-7, 45-19-59, 45-19-61, 45-19-63 and 45-19-65, Mississippi Code of 1972, which authorize an investigation of un-American activities in the state, empower the Secretary of State to investigate subversive groups, empower the Secretary of State to require a list of officers and members of subversive groups, provide a criminal penalty for failure to comply, direct district attorneys to enforce this law and direct the Attorney General to seek an injunction to dissolve such subversive groups, are hereby repealed.

     Further, amend the title by inserting the following after the semicolon on line 36:

TO REPEAL SECTIONS 5-3-27, 5-3-29, 5-3-31, 45-19-51, 45-19-53, 45-19-55, 45-19-7, 45-19-59, 45-19-61, 45-19-63 AND 45-19-65, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH AUTHORIZE AN INVESTIGATION OF UN-AMERICAN ACTIVITIES IN THE STATE, EMPOWER THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO INVESTIGATE SUBVERSIVE GROUPS, EMPOWER THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO REQUIRE A LIST OF OFFICERS AND MEMBERS OF SUBVERSIVE GROUPS, PROVIDE A CRIMINAL PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY, DIRECT DISTRICT ATTORNEYS TO ENFORCE THIS LAW AND DIRECT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO SEEK AN INJUNCTION TO DISSOLVE SUCH SUBVERSIVE GROUPS;
