Cmte Sub for Senate Bill No. 2509

     Amend by inserting the following after line 14 and renumbering subsequent sections accordingly:

SECTION *.  The lands and property of the University of Southern Mississippi shall not be subject to state, county or municipal taxation.  The buildings and improvements that are or may be erected on any land belonging to the university that has been or may be leased to private entities for the purpose of offering affordable board to the students attending the institution shall not be subject to taxation.

FURTHER, amend line 2 of the title by inserting the following after the word "UNIVERSITY":

AND THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI
