AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

House Bill No. 1495

     AMEND by inserting the following new paragraph after line 61:

     "From the funds appropriated in this section for the Contingent Fund for the House and the Contingent Fund for the Senate, each respective house shall pay the expenses of each of its members to attend up to two (2) conferences of the member's choice for educational purposes relating to their legislative duties, not exceeding a total amount of Two Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($2,800.00) per member during the fiscal year.  These expenses paid shall be in addition to the expenses paid for members of the House and Senate to attend conferences for which they are appointed or designated as members of committees of the conference by the presiding officers of the House and Senate, including the National Conference of State Legislatures, the Council of State Governments and the Southern Legislative Conference."
