Senate Concurrent Resolution 505

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE OF VICKSBURG BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY LEADER LARRY LOUIS LAMBIOTTE, SR., AND EXTENDING THE CONDOLENCES OF THE LEGISLATURE TO HIS BEREAVED FAMILY.

     WHEREAS, it is with sadness that we note the passing of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Business and Civic Leader Larry Louis Lambiotte, Sr., (69) on December 17, 2016; and

     WHEREAS, Larry was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, attended Northside High School, and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1969, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.  A lifelong Razorback, Larry loved to "Call the Hogs" at every opportunity.  It is there he met the love of his life, Carolyn Walker Lambiotte, his wife of more than 45 years who survives him; and

     WHEREAS, with both tireless work ethic and business acumen, Larry went on to work in the field of transportation and logistics.  In 1972, he moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, to serve as Terminal Manager for Arkansas Best Freight and he eventually cofounded FALCO Lime, Inc., with his best friend and business partner, Fred Farrell.  Together over 25 years, they grew the business into one of the most successful chemical transportation companies in the southeast; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to his business interests, Larry served on the Board of Directors for First National Bank in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and was later elected to the Board of Directors for Trustmark National Bank in Jackson, Mississippi.  He was a member of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce and was appointed an Honorary Major for his contributions to the Vicksburg National Military Park.  A devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg, Larry served as an Elder for many years; and

     WHEREAS, more than anything in his life, Larry loved his family and his multitude of close friends, and even acquaintances, who he always treated as family.  With a magnetic personality and genuine authenticity, Larry never met a stranger, and he loved nothing more than welcoming family and friends, old and new, into his home and his heart.  He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him; and

     WHEREAS, Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Louis "Jerry" and Jo Ann Lambiotte, and his brother, Jerry Fine Lambiotte.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; sons, Larry Louis Lambiotte, Jr., (Stacey) and Brian Walker Lambiotte (Chesley); brother Joe Clarence Lambiotte (Sherry); brother-in-law, Martin Scott Lewis (Linda); five grandchildren:  Walker, Sadler, Luella, Lanier and Leyton Lambiotte; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and

     WHEREAS, we pay tribute and cherish fondly the memory of this most public-spirited citizen of Mississippi who leaves a legacy of enormous business and civic energy:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the life of Vicksburg Business and Community Leader Larry Louis Lambiottee, Sr., and extend the condolences of the Legislature to his bereaved family.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the surviving family of Mr. Lambiotte, forwarded to the Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
