A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JASON AND JEREMY FLORA OF FLORA LOGGING FOR BEING NAMED THE 2016 MISSISSIPPI FORESTRY ASSOCIATION OUTSTANDING LOGGER OF THE YEAR.

WHEREAS, the Mississippi Forestry Association (MFA) announced Jason and Jeremy Flora of Flora Logging, LLC, in Maben, Mississippi, as the 2016 Outstanding Logger of the Year; and

WHEREAS, the brothers were presented the award at the MFA President's Banquet on October 20, and the 350 banquet guests watched a video produced by Farmweek detailing the Flora's logging company; and

WHEREAS, Glen E. Williams and Thomas Legiandenvi nominated Flora Logging for this prestigious honor because as Glen put it, working with Flora Logging "is more like dealing with family than a logging company"; and

WHEREAS, in addition to receiving the state-wide Logger of the Year Award, Flora Logging was also named the 2016 Outstanding Logger of the Year in Oktibbeha County; and

WHEREAS, Flora Logging has been in business since 1999 and the two brothers, who serve as co-managers of the business, own the company, and as a true family business, their wives, Ashleigh and Kimberly, manage all of their office operations; and

WHEREAS, it is the hope of the two families that one day they will be able to pass the business down to their children who will maintain its prominence in the logging community; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the outstanding family-owned businesses of this state, such as Flora Logging, whose reputation for excellent service will be a beacon in their community for generations to come:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Jason and Jeremy Flora and the entire Flora Logging operation for receiving the prestigious Mississippi Forestry Association 2016 Outstanding Logger of the Year, and extend best wishes for continued success in all of their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Jason and Jeremy Flora and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
