AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ATTALA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LEAKE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT CONCERNING THE HOUSING OF ATTALA COUNTY'S INMATES IN LEAKE COUNTY'S CORRECTIONAL FACILITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Attala County, Mississippi, and the Board of Supervisors of Leake County, Mississippi, are authorized, in their discretion, to enter into an interlocal agreement, pursuant to the provisions of Section 17-13-1, et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972, under the Interlocal Cooperation Act of 1974, to allow Leake County to house Attala County's inmates in the Leake County Correctional Facility.
(2) Any other interlocal agreements or any other agreements entered into before the effective date of this act by the Board of Supervisors of Attala County, Mississippi, and the Board of Supervisors of Leake County, Mississippi, concerning the housing of Attala County's inmates in Leake County are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
