AN ACT TO REQUIRE EVERY CASINO IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM IN FIRST AID AND CPR TRAINING TO ALL EMPLOYEES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  Every casino in the State of Mississippi shall provide a comprehensive program in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training to all employees in accordance with specified guidelines with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.

     (2)  The instruction required under subsection (1) of this section must include the following:

          (a)  An instructional program based on national evidence-based emergency cardiovascular care guidelines for the performance of compression-only CPR, such as those developed by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.

          (b)  Before January 1, 2019, every casino operating in the State of Mississippi shall provide guidance on how to implement the required CPR training, including, but not limited to, who may provide instruction according to this section.

          (c)  Every casino in the State of Mississippi is encouraged to provide to employees general information on the use and importance of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2018.
