Senate Bill 2195

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 29-13-5, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO COMPILE AN INVENTORY OF STATE-OWNED BUILDINGS IN ALL AREAS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 29-13-5, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

29-13-5. The Department of Finance and Administration shall compile an inventory of all state-owned buildings in any area of the state affected by the Hurricane Katrina Disaster of 2005 * * *~~or any floodplain~~ and all other areas, and any necessary data concerning such buildings. Each agency, board, commission, department and institution of the state shall cooperate in the preparation of the inventory and shall submit any information required by the department in a timely manner which will allow the inventory to be finalized and presented to the appropriate federal and state agencies. Such information shall include the specific location and, where available, the elevation of all state-owned buildings under the jurisdiction of the agency, board, commission, department or institution in any hurricane hazard or * * *~~floodplain~~ other areas.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
