Senate Bill 2084

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT ANY AGENCY OR POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI FROM ENFORCING OR FUNDING ANY EXECUTIVE ORDER ISSUED BY THE CURRENT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES THAT IS NOT AFFIRMED BY A VOTE OF CONGRESS AND SIGNED INTO LAW AS PRESCRIBED BY THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  No agency of this state or any of its political subdivisions or employee of an agency or political subdivision acting in his official capacity shall use any personnel or financial resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with an executive order issued by the President of the United States that has not been affirmed by a vote of Congress and signed into law as prescribed by the United States Constitution.

     (2)  No agency of this state or any of its political subdivisions or employee of an agency or political subdivision acting in his official capacity shall use any personnel or financial resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with a policy directive issued by the United States Department of Justice to law enforcement agencies in this state that has not been affirmed by a vote of Congress and signed into law as prescribed by the United States Constitution.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
