House Resolution 97

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING CAMERON TINGLE UPON BEING NAMED A STAR STUDENT FOR GAUTIER HIGH SCHOOL AND RECEIVING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL WENDY'S HEISMAN AWARD.

WHEREAS, Cameron Tingle earned the STAR Student Award for Gautier High School and the Mississippi High School Wendy's Heisman Award, distinguishing himself from fellow Gautier High School classmates, proving his superior skill in the classroom and on the sports fields; and

WHEREAS, Cameron Tingle, a senior at Gautier High School where he earned distinction in the classroom and on the track, represents his school on the track and cross-country teams where he epitomizes the definition of scholar-athlete; and

WHEREAS, to earn the STAR Student Award, Mr. Tingle achieved the highest ACT score in his senior class at Gautier High School; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Tingle earned the Mississippi High School Wendy's Heisman Award by distinguishing himself from more than 60,000 fellow student athletes, recognition not only for his athletic accomplishment, but also his many academic successes; and

WHEREAS, after completing his high school matriculation at Gautier High School, Mr. Tingle plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he earned a full academic scholarship and plans to compete on their track and cross-country teams; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the outstanding achievements of students like Cameron Tingle, who exemplifies the qualities of a true high school student athlete and through his many achievements has brought great honor to his school, his community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Cameron Tingle upon being named STAR Student for Gautier High School, winning the Mississippi High School Wendy's Heisman Award, and extend best wishes for continued success in all of his future athletic and academic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Cameron Tingle, Gautier High School Principal Al Sparkman and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
