House Resolution 96

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. DAVID TINGLE UPON BEING NAMED STAR TEACHER FOR THE PASCAGOULA-GAUTIER SCHOOL DISTRICT.

     WHEREAS, Mr. David Tingle, a teacher at Singing River Academy has been named STAR Teacher for the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, distinguishing himself as a premier educator within his field; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Tingle has mentored and served the students of the Pascagoula-Gautier School District for the last 12 years, and he currently teaches Grades 5 and 6 gifted program at Singing River Academy, where he has taught for the last three years; and

     WHEREAS, STAR Teacher Awards are given to the teacher chosen by the student with the highest ACT score in the school district; Mr. Tingle was selected as the most important and impactful teacher by Cameron Tingle, his son, who attends Gautier High School; and

     WHEREAS, when Cameron Tingle was asked to select the educator who had the most significant impact on his life, the choice was simple, in addition to a life of lessons and advice, Mr. Tingle taught Cameron's sixth grade class and Cameron Tingle could think of no one who contributed to his success more than his father; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize outstanding educators like Mr. David Tingle, whose unwavering commitment to educating the leaders of tomorrow ensures many more gifted students like Cameron Tingle and those at Singing River Academy will accept the challenges of the future unknown:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. David Tingle upon being named STAR Teacher for the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, and extend best wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. David Tingle, Singing River Academy Principal Pam Rone and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
