House Resolution 36

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JOE SPANGENBERGER UPON RECEIVING THE DISTINCT HONOR OF BEING NAMED MISSISSIPPI'S 2015 TRUCK DRIVER OF THE YEAR.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Joe Spangenberger, from Ripley, Mississippi, employee of J&B Services of Pontotoc, Mississippi, has been awarded the distinct honor of being named Mississippi's Truck Driver of the Year for 2015; and

     WHEREAS, this honor reflects the hard work and dedication required from all transportation professionals and Mr. Spangenberger has demonstrated that he represents the very best of his profession; and

     WHEREAS, the truck driving profession requires a significant emphasis on both productivity and safety, skill sets that Mr. Spangenberger has evidenced and shown a strong commitment to both in his 40 years of driving, having driven over four million miles in the span of his career; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to Mr. Spangenberger's outstanding professional career, he further distinguishes himself as an exceptional member of his community, where he regularly volunteers in animal rescue and also raises money for the children of St. Jude Children's Hospital; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Spangenberger has exhibited both the highest measure of professionalism in his job, along with a steadfast commitment to bettering his community and bettering the State of Mississippi as a whole; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize Mississippians such as Mr. Spangenberger, who represents both true professionalism and who is committed to bettering his community, by leading his profession and community forward:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Joe Spangenberger, 2015 Truck Driver of the Year, and express gratitude for his hard work and commitment to safety.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Joe Spangenberger and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
