A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MRS. VERDIE CRUM ON CELEBRATING THE MOST AUSPICIOUS OCCASION OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF HER BIRTH ON FEBRUARY 9, 2016.

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Verdie Crum, born on February 9, 1916, celebrated the 100th anniversary of her birth on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, and will celebrate the occasion surrounded by her loving family and friends on February 27, 2016; and

     WHEREAS, born in Alcorn County, Mississippi, Mrs. Crum began a life full of many passions; from gardening, to sewing and quilting, to later spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her life and her passion has brought joy to the many people close to her; and

     WHEREAS, after marrying the love of her life, Mr. Robert Crum, the new family happily welcomed their two daughters; Mrs. Essie Conaway and Mrs. Betty Jean Nelms; and

     WHEREAS, over the years, faith has remained a steadfast constant in Mrs. Crum's life and has permeated the atmosphere of worship as a member of Holly Baptist Church, where she served her fellow congregates with selfless passion for the good of others; and

     WHEREAS, equipped with the innate gift of being a Good Samaritan, helping anyone in any manner she could, Mrs. Crum was always actively involved in the fulfillment of her Christian and civic duties; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such an outstanding individual as Mrs. Crum, as she celebrates this most auspicious occasion with her family and friends:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life of Mrs. Verdie Crum, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of her birth on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, and express sincere wishes for continued health, joy, peace and prosperity for years to come.
